Cycle Against Suicide

Cycle Against Suicide. Together we can break the cycle.

The community and guestmaster Fr Kevin were delighted to be able to provide hospitality to some of the hardy cyclists participating in the Cycle Against Suicide annual cycle event. The cycle which began in Dublin on 24th April sweeps through towns villages and communities of the island of Ireland spreading the message that “it’s OK to not feel OK; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help.” The cyclists stayed in our guesthouse after completing yesterday’s route from Ballinasloe to Roscrea via Portumna. Today’s route sees them cycle from Roscrea to Tipperary town via Borrisoleigh a journey of 76 km. They will then pass through Waterford, Wexford and Athlone en route to completing this mammoth cycle in Dublin on 7th May. A great group of men and women cycling for a very important cause. As they say “Together, shoulder to shoulder we can break the cycle of suicide on the island of Ireland.”  If you are interested in learning more about the many events that are organised throughout the year visit there website www.cycleagainstsuicide.com
